Why I started writing and making books
I have always dreamed of writing and making books. But not until recently, during this pandemic, when I got the idea of actually embarking on this new adventure.
During this pandemic, many people are confined in their homes. And some of my friends and acquaintances had asked me what I do to entertain myself when I am not doing my many duties. And I told them that I do puzzles, paint, sketch, exercise, cook, photograph nature or anything that I see beautiful or intriguing, write, read, dance, sing, and do my other hobbies, which I have very many. And they told me why not publish books on some of my hobbies because it may help other people. At first, I laughed at that notion because that was the last thing on my mind during this pandemic. But they told me why not embark on this new adventure because they have always known that I wanted to write and make books, and I can’t think of any reason not to do it. So they dared me, and I gladly accepted.
So I sat and thought about what I would write and make first. And I thought to myself, why not write a puzzle book so everyone can see my passion and love for logic and brain teaser games. So the next thing that I thought of is what puzzle will I write. I knew that I wanted puzzles with numbers that challenge the mind. So I thought of Sudoku, but to me, Sudoku was too easy. I want to make and publish something that challenges the mind. So I settled with Samurai Sudoku. And to make it even more challenging, I made Samurai Sudokus with progressive difficulty levels and published it as my 1st book. It was an exciting undertaking for me to do because I am navigating through uncharted waters. But I enjoyed every bit of this publishing journey.
After I successfully published my 1st book, they asked me again if I dared to make a 2nd book. So I sat for a moment and pondered, then I said what subject matter should I do and publish next. And many of my friends and acquaintances talked about my passion and love for Art. So I said and laughed, I don’t think I can publish any of my paintings. And then someone said, what about making a coloring book and published it. So I said, do you think people will like coloring books? And they told me that it is one of the most loved stress-relieving activities that people enjoy. So I said, okay, I will make a coloring book. So I sat and thought about what kind of a coloring book I should make. And I thought, because this is my very 1st coloring book, I should make something heartfelt and beautiful. Something everyone thinks of first when they hear “beautiful” and “enthralling.” So I thought of making a “Beautiful Paradise Mandalas” that soothes the soul. Everyone dreams of being in Paradise. And using a mandala geometric configuration symbols compliments the beauty and the feeling of being in Paradise. So this is what came about for my 2nd book. And I loved every part of the process.
And then for my 3rd book (Children’s Space Brain Teaser Puzzle Activities (Ages 4-8)), I have always liked seeing children learn and be challenged to better themselves. So I decided to make a Puzzle Book for children, which contained painstakingly crafted different puzzles and activities. And for my future children’s books, I have thought about making more of these kinds of puzzles and activity books for children. I also have thought about writing children’s books, cookbooks, coloring books, journals, planners, etc.
For my 4th and 5th books (The Wonderful World of Puzzles and 1000 Scintillating & Mind-Blowing Sudoku Puzzles (6 Difficulty Levels)), more people ask for more puzzle books. So I made these books to respond to the demand. And I am just so happy that everyone likes my puzzle books and want to see more of them.
And for my future books, I have already thought of what I will be making and writing. And these books will be something that I am passionate about and want to share with everyone.
